Within our department we have individuals with various levels of training and certification including: N.C. Firefighter 1, N.C. Fire & Life Safety Educator 1, Wildland Fire Suppression, Swiftwater Rescue, N.C. Emergency Medical Responder, N.C. Emergency Medical Technician--Defibulation, "FarmMedic", N. C. Fire Inspection 1

|
First Responders:
Our department provides emergency medical response to our Fire District as well as parts of the town of Morganton, which has Public Safety Officers but no First Responders.
Our responders are trained as North Carolina certified Emergency Medical Responders, and one is at the EMT-D level. We typically assist the County EMS on calls.

Swiftwater Rescue Team:
Team members are trained in the dangers of moving water, self rescue, rescue sequence of Reach, Throw, Row, Go & Helo, rescue equipment and rigging, shore based and boat based rescues.
