"Lift an inch, crib an inch."

The Glen Alpine C.E.R.T. (Community Emergency Response Team) was begun in the fall of 1999. The Rev. Frank Gordon was the Course Manager, trained and authorized by FEMA to provide
C.E.R.T. training.

Annual C.E.R.T. training is held, and is provided by the Glen Alpine Fire Dept., it is occasionally co-sponsored by the Venturing Crew # 219 of Glen Alpine UMC.

Being part of an active C.E.R.T. is a part of the President's "Citizens Corp" initiative. If you are in the Glen Alpine area and are interested in becoming a trained C.E.R.T. volunteer, you may make an application at the Town Hall.

If you are not in the Glen Alpine area you are encouraged to receive training through your local Fire Department, if available. If your local jurisdiction does not have a
Community Emergency Response Team, contact your local Emergency Management office to find out more information, or contact your local fire department or community officials and encourage them to sponsor a team or teams.
